Elicia Pegues Spearman is an experienced Employment Attorney and Human Resources Leader that worked for Aetna, a Fortune 50 Company, for twelve years. She has also been employed by other private, federal government and state organizations. For over sixteen years Attorney Spearman has practiced and litigated a wide variety of employment matters in state and federal courts. She has been licensed to practice law in four states and before the United States Supreme Court. Prior to working at Aetna, she worked as an attorney for Children’s Hospital, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.

For the last seven years she has progressively acquired and honed various human resources skill sets by assuming different leadership roles such as managing the Employee Relations and Compliance Center of Excellence to servicing clients as a Human Resources Business Partner. Mrs. Spearman is well-known for her executive coaching, negotiating, recruiting, organizational design, change management and strategic planning skills. Currently, she consults and advises private clients on various legal matters but specializes in contract negotiations, severance and employment contracts.

Attorney Spearman serves in leadership positions in several international and community service organizations. As a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Mrs. Spearman was recently appointed as the Chairman of the Leadership Fellows Committee and under her leadership the committee will design and implement an annual week-long career training program for selected undergraduates as well as provide them with year-long coaching. As a member of The Links, Incorporated, Mrs. Spearman was appointed as the Eastern Region Chairman of the Awards and Ritual Committee. In addition to those two organizations, Attorney Spearman has been Board President and a Board Member, respectively, of Children In Placement (a CASA organization) and Lawyers For Children of America, both foster youth advocacy organizations.

Attorney Spearman has extensive experience serving as a featured speaker, panelist, moderator and chairing conferences and fundraisers and has been the recipient of community and organizational awards. She is a proud graduate of Wellesley College and Case Western Reserve University, where she received the Young Alumni Award. Attorney Spearman resides in Connecticut with her husband and daughter.
